Taking a Stance in

SOLIDARITY

SOLIDARITY

against and resists the murder and violence committed against Black people. We stand in solidarity with the Black young people, families, educators, and volunteers of our community.

In response to current events, we gathered with students (virtually), as we do each week, to share words and feelings. We shared words like "rage" and "sadness" and “disappointment” for the adults and leaders in our world who are supposed to protect us and speak up against injustice. We made wishes and plans to take care of our beloveds, to check in on them, to collect and share resources, create spaces for Black youth, led by other young Black student-mentors, and to rise in solidarity with the myriad Black leaders in our country who are fighting for us all.

Fearless Ideas promises to continue to actively resist systemic racism.

FEARLESS IDEAS STANDS

We've compiled several resources into a PDF document that supports our collective goals and beliefs. We invite you to click the button below and utilize these resources in your own efforts to dismantle racism.

Diversity, Inclusivity, and Equity

STATEMENT

STATEMENT

of our mission is providing a diverse, inclusive, and equitable learning and work environment for our students, staff, and volunteers. No matter what their gender, race, ethnicity, national origin, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, education, or disability, we respect every member of our community. We value diverse life experiences and heritages, and support an inclusive environment with equitable treatment for all.

CENTRAL TO THE PURSUIt

It's not enough to merely espouse diversity, inclusion, and equity, we must also the practice them and participate in deepening our understanding of them whenever possible. Only by setting an example within our organization can we expect to see these values reflected. Fearless Ideas strives:

  • TO EXAMINE openly the underlying and unquestioned assumptions that may interfere with inclusivity.

  • TO UNDERSTAND and communicate with people across cultures by embracing differences and continually increasing awareness of our own biases.

  • TO PROVIDE staff and volunteers regular learning opportunities, open and frank discussion, and transparent organizational policies around these values.

  • TO ENCOURAGE all employees, volunteers, and students to embrace tolerance and respect, and to express it in everyday interaction.

THE BUREAU of FEARLESS IDEAS is an equal opportunity employer.
