of volunteers brings a diverse array of skills and experience to the Fearless Ideas community. Some prefer to work side-by-side with students helping with homework, writing, and working on creative projects; others might like engaging with a group of students in our field trips and workshops; for some may take a shift in the store, greeting students and interacting with customers; while for others, working behind the scenes editing stories, creating books, fundraising, or stuffing envelopes is more their cup of tea. to becoming a volunteer

Four

Easy STEPS

Easy STEPS

Step one:

Fill out the Volunteer Application & Schedule an Orientation

Step two:

Complete Seattle Public Schools' Adult Sexual Misconduct Training.

The application is easy and as soon as you submit it, you'll schedule your orientation.

This prerequisite training takes about 15 minutes. Email the completion certificate, or bring it to orientation.

Step THREE:

Attend an Orientation

It takes about an hour and you'll learn more about the Bureau of Fearless Ideas, and which volunteer opportunity is best for you. You'll also be asked to fill out  a police background check.

Step FOUR:

Set up your first day!

Once you passed your background check, you'll be able to connect with the program manager(s) of the program(s) you hope to volunteer in. Introduce yourself and schedule your first day as a volunteer!

Volunteers with specialized skills and leadership experience, who are interested in a longer-term (8+ months) involvement, may qualify for an Associate or an Assistant position.

Let us know after your Volunteer Orientation if this prospect intrigues you.

THE VOLUNTEER APPLICATION PORTAL IS TEMPORARILY CLOSED.

We respectfully ask for your patience and encourage you to check back often, especially as social distancing restrictions begin to loosen. In the meantime, please know that we are grateful for your interest and generosity–we hope to see you in person soon.
