WHAT IS THE SEATTLE ODYSSEY?
The SEATTLE ODYSSEY is a ten-day, city-wide, all-ages, literary scavenger hunt that celebrates the stories that make our home town special. If you love words, stories, and adventure, this Odyssey beckons you like a Siren's song!
Using the free mobile app from GooseChase, you and your teammates can choose from all kinds of Socially Distanced and COVID-Safe literary adventures and challenges, each with a different point value.
Points are earned by completing challenges. Each challenge is creatively designed by members of the Fearless Ideas community - students, staff, volunteers, authors, and local business partners. New challenges are released on the app every day!
Challenges could be as simple as answering trivia questions from the comfort of your home, or as adventurous as excursions to take photos in secret locations! Some challenges may be special and time-sensitive, so be on the lookout! You choose the challenge that's right for you or your team!
The winning teams will be announced at our live fundraiser, People Eating & Giving, happening at MOHAI on May 6th at 6:30 p.m. The winning team will also receive a unique prizes and praise along the way.
WHEN CAN I PLAY
Players can start earning points when the challenges are published on April 20. But you can sign up and build your team right now, and you can join the game at any time before it ends on April 29! What are you waiting for? Set sail on your Seattle Odyssey by downloading the FREE APP!

Create a team or find the team you've been invited to join–you can join more than one team (if you're super popular). More info on teams BELOW

Complete Challenges - new challenges will be released on the app beginning April 20th, with new challenges added every day through April 29th.

When a member of your team completes a challenge, they earn points for the whole team!

View everyone's progress on the Activity Feed and share your adventures on social media. Be sure to use the hashtag #seattleodyssey
ODYSSEY WITH FRIENDS!
You and your friends can join forces as part of a team and share in the epic odyssey experience! Team members use their individual mobile devices to take on their team's list of challenges. When a team member completes a challenge, they earn points for the whole team!
HOW DO I CREATE/JOIN A TEAM
After you create an account, search for and open the SEATTLE ODYSSEY:Chapter Two from the game list, and click on "Select Team & Join Game", on the next screen...

If you choose to create a team, you'll make a team profile (you can change or edit this later). Create a team name and 4-digit access code (or use the automatically generated access code). Friends you invite to join your team will need to know your team name and the 4-digit access code. The access code is to ensure they're joining the right team.

If you are joining an existing team, find your team name, and enter the 4-digit access code when prompted.
TURN ON NOTIFICATIONS
This is important for everyone on the team to do. This way you'll know when new challenges are added - some challenges may be time sensitive or have limited availability so keep an eye out!
INVITE FRIENDS TO JOIN YOUR TEAM
Teams can be as large as a Greek sailing armada, and as small as one person, but the Seattle Odyssey works best in teams of 3-6 friends to allow everyone to feel engaged. When you invite friends to join remember they'll need to know your team name and 4-digit access code.
Here's a sample invite you can copy, then add your team name and access code at the end:

Just download the FREE GooseChase app on your mobile device, click “PLAY WITH NEW ACCOUNT”, and search for the game “SEATTLE ODYSSEY”. My team name and access code is: _____________.

Once you've built your team, check out the competition! The Activity Feed and Leader Board will help your team keep an eye on the progress of others!
SHARE YOUR ODYSSEY ON SOCIAL MEDIA
Share Seattle Odyssey photos and video challenges from the Goosechase App to let everyone see how creative and brave you are.
